The earth fault directional relays type DSO are intended for the protection against earth faults in lines with insulated or resistance earthed neutral.
They can also be employed in case of ring mains or with variable configuration. The independent time delay makes it possible to build-up selective protection systems with time grading. It is also possible to apply several acceleration schemes by means of pilot wire connection between different sub-stations.
