The relays series DSX are intended for the protection against the loss of field or underexcitation for synchronous generators. To this end the relay DSX continuously monitors both components of the active and reactive power generated by the machine. Whenever their value exceeds the capability curve of the protected machine, the protection relay operates.
The protection against the loss of synchronism is obtained by adding a timer relay type DCT.
