The relay type SHG is intended for the protection of electric lines and machines against overloads, shortcircuits and earth faults.
The relay SHG features the following principal characteristics:

• three input measuring circuits for the line currents;
• measuring circuit, provided with a band pass filter, for the residual current;
• protection functions and final relays completely programmable by the user;
• selectable operation curves with independent or dependent time as well for the overcurrent as for the earth fault function;
• direct read-out of all the input quantities by means of digital display on the front panel;
• counting of the number of operations performed for each function;
• counting of the cumulative switched currents for each pole of the circuit breaker;
• storing the values of input quantities corresponding to the last operation;
• optional blocking circuit, to perform accelerated protection schemes;
• serial communication circuit;
• continuous monitoring of internal circuits.
