The negative sequence overcurrent relays series DHL are intended for the protection of generators against the overheating due to unbalanced load. The time-current characteristic curve is an extremely inverse type to take into account as closely as possible the heating caused by the negative sequence currents. The curve parameters are fully adjustable, so as to match the capability curve of the protected machine, as well for transient as for permanent conditions.
An alarm threshold with independent time enables the maintenance operator to take actions, in some cases, before a trip of the circuit breaker occurs.
The relays are available with two-phase input for insulated neutral systems and with three-phase input, compensated for the zero sequence currents, for distributed neutral systems.
