The negative sequence overcurrent relays type DIL are intended for the protection of motors and generators against the over-heating produced by such a current component: it can be generated by voltage unbalance, insulation faults, open circuit in one phase conductor, excessive load unbalance.
The relays are available with 2-phase input circuit for insulated neutral systems and with 3-phase input circuit, insensitive to zero sequence currents, for distributed neutral systems.
